Introduction ## Cr-V steelThe Narex Richter Bevel Edge Chisel 815025, chisel, 25 mm is made of Cr-V steel; a high-carbon ‘durability’ steel with chromium and vanadium, intended for tools that need to remain tough and sharp. Cr-V, or Chromium-Vanadium, is hardened to 59 HRC using a unique hardening process that results in an even steel structure and good sharpness retention. In the ‘Richter’ series, Narex takes the steel to 62 HRC using techniques such as vacuum hardening and cryogenic post-treatment. This creates a strong, even structure that ensures long-lasting sharpness without brittleness. Cr-V is robust steel that is surprisingly easy to sharpen yourself. Important: Cr-V steel is not corrosion-resistant and can therefore discolour on contact with moisture. Dry after use and apply oil occasionally to prevent corrosion. ## About NarexNarex began in 1919 as Vclav Richter’s factory for high-quality woodworking tools.
