Each side is enhanced with a different grain size to make sure you will always have the right sharpening stone close for each knife. From sharpening a completely blunt knife to sharpening and maintaining that sharpness. You can rotate the sharpening stone and put it back on the wooden base to make sure the right sharpening stone is always facing up. This sharpening system also comes with a bottle with 30 ml of sharpening oil and a sharpening angle guide for a 23 degree sharpening angle. The coarse side is a sharpening stone made from silicon carbide. This mineral quickly removes material to make sure you quickly end up with a straight edge without dents. The medium side is a Soft Arkansas natural sharpening stone with a grain size of approximately J600 grit. Perfect for sharpening a straight edge. The extra-fine side is a Black Arkansas natural sharpening stone with a grain size of approximately J3000 grit.
